Our program has been developed through the efforts of a comprehensive team of physicians, nurses, exercise physiologists, physical therapists and dietitians. In addition, that team forms the basis for a component unique to Training for 2 -regular educational sessions on topics related to maintaining a healthy pregnancy, and more! Some of the educational topics include:

• Nutritional concerns during pregnancy

• Back School

+ Labor-Delivery-Recovery topics

• Normal pediatric development

• Breastfeeding

• Analgesics and Labor

• Physician Question/Answer sessions

Our exercise leaders will establish a safe, effective program following the guidelines set forth by the American College of Obstetrics & Gynecology, the American College of Sports Medicine, and the American Physical Therapy Association.

For your safety, your physician will determine the appropriateness of your participation in the program, and will notify us of any special medical considerations you may have. Periodic fetal monitoring will be performed at the exercise sessions to make sure both you and your baby are responding well to workouts.

Nuts & Bolts

Before starting in the program, you will undergo a screening by the physical therapist which will focus on musculoskeletal history, posture, flexibility, and strength. The exercise physiologist will perform a thorough fitness evaluation to determine your cardiovascular endurance, body composition and, muscular endurance baselines. The end result is an exercise plan which is designed to meet your special needs and personal fitness goals.

Exercise classes are held two times per week (Wed 7:15-8:15 pm and Sat. 8:00-9:00 am) in an exciting and supportive atmosphere. Educational sessions are held on a regular basis following the Wed. evening class.

Fees for the program are $20/month for Concorde members, and $40/month for non-members. Child care is available at an additional fee of $1/child for each session.
